A good Tanzania safari itinerary is not just a list of parks. It is a rhythm — dawn game drives, a long lunch, an afternoon in the vehicle, a sundowner on a kopje. Below are three complete itineraries we run week in, week out. Each is fully private with a Land Cruiser and guide.
3-day Tanzania safari — the short escape
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park. Afternoon game drive among the baobabs and elephant herds. Overnight tented camp.
Day 2: Tarangire to Ngorongoro Crater rim. Sunset over the crater. Overnight crater-rim lodge.
Day 3: Full-day crater descent — Big Five in one bowl. Return to Arusha. From $2,140 pp.
6-day Northern Circuit — the classic
Days 1–2: Tarangire and Lake Manyara. Elephants, tree-climbing lions and the Rift Valley wall.
Days 3–4: Central Serengeti (Seronera Valley). Two nights of big-cat country — resident prides, leopards in sausage trees, cheetah on the plains.
Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater rim via Olduvai Gorge.
Day 6: Crater descent then return to Arusha. From $3,200 pp comfort tier, $6,490 pp luxury.
10-day Migration & Zanzibar — the whole picture
Days 1–2: Tarangire and Lake Manyara.
Days 3–5: Fly to the northern Serengeti (Kogatende). Three nights on the Mara River during crossing season.
Day 6: Fly to Ngorongoro Crater rim.
Day 7: Crater descent, then fly to Zanzibar.
Days 8–10: Beach at Kiwengwa or Matemwe, snorkelling at Mnemba Atoll, Stone Town heritage walk. From $7,900 pp.
Making it yours
These are starting points, not menus. Every Lulu itinerary is tailored — swap parks, add days, upgrade a single night to a special-occasion lodge, or extend with Kilimanjaro. Send us the dates and interests; we will send back three options.
